“On behalf of my family I want to thank you for the wonderful and caring way you were there for us for Dad’s funeral. Not only on the day, but from the time we contacted you and afterwards. It was if you were part of the family. The service was truly a celebration of a life well lived, rather than a sad farewell to our loved father, husband and grandfather.”

About Us

After many years in the funeral industry in Tasmania, Phillip, along with his wife Michelle, commenced Phillip Stephens Funerals in 1999, which enabled them to fulfil their passion in providing families with personal and professional care during their greatest time of need.
The business was the first of its kind to be established on Hobart’s Eastern Shore, with the funeral home, offices and crematorium situated at Mornington, and the Chapel on Rosny Hill, overseeing the scenic Kangaroo Bay Marina. The business has experienced significant growth over that time, and Phillip Stephens Funerals continues to offer a state wide service to families during their time of loss.

We take tremendous pride in our team of dedicated staff, offering the utmost compassion, care, support and attention to detail during this most difficult time. With the continued growth and expansion of the business, Phillip and Michelle entered into an agreement to join Propel Funeral Partners in 2016 where Phillip and Michelle continue in their roles as Joint Managing Directors and, along with their dedicated staff, are committed to ensuring that the passion they have for people in providing personal care, continues to make the difference.
